Rowlens M. Melduni, M.D

President

Dr. Rowlens M. Melduni founded Clinicians of the World in 2010 in response to the emerging need and demand for specialized medical care in underprivileged population around the world. The goal of Clinicians of the World is to provide specialized medical care, health education and deliver humanitarian aid to underserved people around the world regardless of culture, ethnicity, religious or political affiliation.

After the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated the country of Haiti, Dr Melduni was one of the first Cardiologist on the ground. He spent several days running the Intensive care unit (ICU) and postoperative unit at Haiti's University (city) hospital in Port-au-prince without any ICU monitors or equipment. When suddenly faced with the possibility of losing a patient in the middle of the night due to respiratory distress, Dr Melduni directed his team to intubate the patient and manually ventilate her for almost three hours just to keep her alive while clearing out secretions from the lungs. That was when Dr Melduni realized the urgent call for a global organization that will be dedicated to providing compassionate quality specialized care to underserved people with unrelenting attention to clinical excellence, and an unparalleled passion and commitment to assure the very best healthcare for those in need.

Dr. Melduni is an assistant professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, and is a Consultant in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases at the Mayo Clinic.
