Dear Friend,

The Clinicians of the World Team would like to extend an invitation to you to join us on our upcoming Hope for HAITI Mission Tripon December 1-8, 2012. Our plan is to reach out to those who need help the most, the poor.

According to the World Health Organization, deworming children in the third world is an economic and educational priority. It is a crucial step towards achieving universal primary education and improving children's long-term productivity. If left untreated, infected children will contribute less to the economic development of their community as adults. Indeed, one of the best ways of eradicating worms in an impoverished community is to improve sanitation and public health.

In collaboration with our local Haiti partners, Mission of Hope International and Haiti Arise, we are planning to continue our Deworming Program in Grand-goave, a small town about 26 miles (SW) outside of Port au Prince. We also plan to provide much needed medical care in nearby remote villages where there is little or no access to basic medical care.

OBJECTIVES:

1. Deworm 5,000 children

2. Build 2 latrines in 2 remote villages in Grand-goave, Haiti.

3. Get 2 displaced families out of tents by building them 2 Habitat for Humanity style houses.

DATES:  December 1-8, 2012 with overnight stay in Miami on November 30.

COST: Airfare + $450 to help cover your in-country ground transportation, room and board, translators, and mission essentials. Fees will be tax-deductible, and we offer great support to help you raise all the funds you need for the trip.

HOW CAN I VOLUNTEER FOR THIS MISSION TRIP?

Our Mission Teams are typically limited to 25 volunteers.  If you are interested in being a team member on our Fall 2012 Hope for Haiti Medical Mission Trip, please complete and return the Mission Trip Application Form to reserve your spot; on a first come basis.

DO I NEED TO HAVE MEDICAL TRAINING TO VOLUNTEER? NO. We are in need of both medical and non-medical volunteers (particularly those with experience in construction). Volunteers will be placed according to their gifts and abilities.

WHAT IF I AM NOT ABLE TO VOLUNTEER? We still need your help- you can make an investment in HOPE by making a donation or sponsoring someone who wants to serve.
Sincerely,

Rowlens
